Clay plates produced in ancient Taraz are a vivid testament to the high level of artistic taste and technical craftsmanship of the time. The quality of these items is evident in their glaze, coloring, shape, and ornamentation. The plates were made both by hand modelling and with the help of a potter's wheel. The appearance of the items is distinguished by refined shades and elegant patterns. To apply ornamentation, craftsmen used various technical methods such as stamping, carving, applique, and incising. Meaningful decorative motifs featuring plants, geometric shapes, as well as images of birds and animals were widely used in the decoration of the ceramics. This serves as important evidence of the high level of artistic and cultural development of the inhabitants of ancient Taraz.
