The main task of the Museum Business and Tour Services department is to provide visitors to the museum reserve with sightseeing activities and to hold mass events and promotional events for museum activities. The guides of the museum-reserve conduct large-scale traveling, periodic thematic exhibitions, video tours and video lectures using museum exhibits.
The tour guide performs the following job responsibilities:
Oversees the development of excursion programs, preparation of survey methods, demonstrations, research of excursion objects, making changes and appendices to excursions.
Provides a written proposal for inclusion on the public procurement portal with a preliminary (two months in advance) planning of the necessary materials, items to be organized, purchased in relation to planned, unscheduled events, business trips, conferences, symposiums, seminars, research, expositions.
Conducts tours of expositions, exhibitions, open storage facilities and facilities of the enterprise.
Makes additions and changes to the guided tours in accordance with the new materials and recommendations of the methodologist.
Participates in organizing and conducting cultural events, preparing methodological recommendations and listening to recommendations on excursions, systematizes scientific literature on museum business, studies various topics about the history of the region, objects related to the enterprise, participates in the collection and study of data.
Organizes excursions, accepts applications, analyzes them, and conducts appropriate work on visitor complaints (accepts and analyzes complaints, takes action on submitted complaints, and maintains established records).
Performs work on improving the methods of conducting excursions.
Maintains close ties with institutions, lower, secondary, higher, and special educational institutions, and organizes lectures for these organizations.
Carries out close cooperation with licensed tour operators, travel agents of the Zhambyl region, oversees the conduct of explanatory work.
Participates in all safety instructions conducted by the company administration.
Carries out the written and oral instructions of the head of the department.

Visitors inform the management of the enterprise about the things they have forgotten or lost.
Calls representatives of the administration and relevant services in emergency situations (if strange behavior is detected among visitors, if necessary -in health care, fire, etc.).
During work, he observes the rules of safety and order that are mandatory for employees of the enterprise, does not perform religious rituals (reading the Koran, etc.), except for the visitor's address, and does not promote other information to visitors that is not provided for in this job description and official obligation.
