A Lecture on the Life and Achievements of Kazhymukan Munaitpasuly Was Delivered
Kazhymukan Munaitpasuly was the first professional wrestler in the history of the Kazakh people. Having devoted his entire life to the art of wrestling, he was the first to showcase his vast land and proud people to other nations, treading on soil his predecessors had never walked, seeing countries no other Kazakh had seen, and being the first to wear gold and silver medals that no other Kazakh had ever won. A possessor of enormous strength, the first Kazakh titan to become world champion in several types of wrestling! Having traveled the globe with his unmatched skill, competing in 54 countries and winning 48 medals — there was no wrestler as mighty as Kazhymukan among any Turkic people at the beginning of the 20th century, except among the Kazakhs. It should be noted that in the Russian wrestling team, no one surpassed Kazhymukan in strength. Kazhymukan was also known by the pseudonyms "Yamagata Mukhunuri" and "Ivan the Black." This year marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of our ancestor Kazhymukan. In this regard, employees of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve Museum "Monuments of Ancient Taraz" under the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited the Regional Specialized Children and Youth Sports School No. 2 under the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Zhambyl Region Akimat and delivered a lecture on the life and achievements of Kazhymukan Munaitpasuly. Video footage of the students' training process was also recorded, and interviews were conducted with the institution's leaders.
