The Giant of Songs – Zhambyl

On January 21 of this year, the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Monuments of Ancient Taraz" organized a thematic mobile club "Giant of Song — Zhambyl" at School-Gymnasium No. 5 named after Zhambyl Zhabayev in Taraz, dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Zhambyl Zhabayev, considered the "Homer of the 20th Century". During the club session, students were presented with a mobile exhibition of special posters with poems by Zhambyl Zhabayev and unique medieval artifacts found at the site of the sacred city of Taraz. Students were given a detailed account of the life and work of Zhambyl Zhabayev — a legendary folk poet, master of akyn art, and aitysker, as well as the history of the Zhambyl Zhabayev monument, which is part of the historical and cultural heritage under the institution. The legacy of the poet, who became the pride of not only the Zhambyl region but the entire Kazakh people, will live forever in memory.
