Monitoring Work at Aulie Ata Mosque
Employees of the “Scientific Research and Monument Protection” department of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Monuments of Ancient Taraz” under the Culture Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan began monitoring work on historical sites of the museum-reserve.
The Auliye Ata mosque is located in the old part of Taraz, near the historical area, at the intersection of B. Adambaev Street No. 24 and Kylishbay Akyn Street.

The central mosque of our city was erected in 1906–1913 under the direction of master Seidulla Kozha with the financial support of local benefactor and merchant Kali Zhunis Mayusupov. Over many years, various repair, restoration, and additional construction works have been carried out on the mosque building. The first repair work was done in 1973, and in 1998 the entire construction space was renovated using new materials and ornaments. Old rooms were repaired, new ones were built, and comfortable conditions were created for performing daily domestic and religious rituals. At the entrance to the mosque grounds, gates with two minarets were installed.
During the monitoring, naib-imam of the Auliye Ata mosque Turlybеkov Asylkhan Orynbasaruly shared information about the current condition of the monument and the number of visitors. He noted that during construction work carried out in 2021, the entire building space was renovated, ornaments were done in Kazakh style, while the original was fully preserved.
