The History of Togyz Kumalak Was Told

One of the notable days of the Nauryznama decade is dedicated to national sports. Traditional Kazakh sports such as baiga, kokpar, kures, zhamby atu, audaryspak, batpan koteru, togyz kumalak, and others are promoted across the country.

Our colleagues from the museum-reserve "Monuments of Ancient Taraz" spoke about togyz kumalak — a traditional Kazakh intellectual game, and the stone-carved version discovered during excavations in ancient Taraz.

This game, with over 4,000 years of history, was originally invented by shepherds. Togyz kumalak, considered a game of Turkic-speaking peoples, is developed in our country as an intellectual game.
