Cutting the Tussau...
Within "Nauryznama," March 17 is Culture and National Traditions Day. Since Nauryz began, events celebrating cultural heritage are held across the country.
The team of the museum-reserve "Monuments of Ancient Taraz" held the Tusaukesser ceremony — one of the centuries-old traditions. Chief custodian Ulbolsyn Alimkhanova cut the symbolic bonds of little Taraz resident Amira Yerkebulankyzy and offered kind wishes for her first step into life.
For reference: Tusaukesser is a remarkable Kazakh tradition. The ritual is performed so the baby starts walking sooner, usually around one year of age. This tradition has existed since the Tengrian era.
Despite numerous trials, the Kazakh people continue to prove the vitality of their traditions. Ancestral heritage must be cherished and never forgotten.
Long live national culture and spirituality!
