Preservation of Historical and Cultural Heritage is Our Common Duty
Today, employees of the Republican Historical and Cultural Reserve-Museum "Monuments of Ancient Taraz" under the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a round table on the topic "Preservation of Historical and Cultural Heritage — Our Common Duty," dedicated to the International Day for Monuments and Sites. Professors, lecturers, and students of the Taraz Regional University named after M.Kh. Dulati participated in the round table. During the event, current issues of protecting and preserving the cultural heritage of the region, popularization of sites of republican and international significance in the region, as well as issues of engaging and providing access for students to historical sites were discussed. Presentations were heard from university associate professors Beisembin K.R. and Serikbayev E.K., Director of the Regional Directorate for Monument Protection Daurembekov K.K., researcher Ibadildayeva M., and monument protection inspector Rysbay Zh. Deputy Director for Research Alimzhanova G. spoke about the prospects for developing local history studies and forms of cooperation with universities in the region. This was followed by a broad exchange of views in a Q&A format, and round table participants expressed their wishes to the reserve-museum regarding the frequency of such events. They emphasized that youth is the main focus of the cultural and educational policy of our state. It is necessary to educate them in the spirit of patriotism and love for their homeland, knowledge and respect for its history, spiritual and material culture. The round table was complemented by the archaeological exhibition "Taraz — Witness of Centuries," during which visitors could view unique artifacts of ancient Taraz.
