Lecture: Okhum Settlement — Traces of a Forgotten Civilization
Historian of the "Scientific Activities and Monument Protection" department of the Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Monuments of Ancient Taraz" Akerke Ergabylkyzy delivered an educational lecture for students of class 8 "B" at School No. 10 on the topic "Okhum Settlement – Traces of a Forgotten Civilization."
During the lesson, students were presented with:
Historical sources and results of archaeological research
The structure of the Okhum settlement, its cultural layers, and ancient living conditions
The historical significance of discovered artifacts
Informative details about the place of Zhetysu and the Talas region in the history of civilization
Students showed great interest, asked questions, and received new information about historical artifacts. Such educational activities have a significant impact on the younger generation, helping them gain deeper knowledge of the history of their homeland and develop respect for national cultural heritage.
