The Regional Governor Visited Aktobe (Balasagun) Settlement on a Working Trip

Governor of Zhambyl region N.M. Nurzhigitov, during a working visit to the Shu district, visited the Aktobe (Balasagun) settlement, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. An excursion around the settlement was conducted for the working group members. With representatives of local executive bodies, issues of preservation, protection, and promotion of the Aktobe (Balasagun) settlement were discussed, as well as plans to make it an attractive tourist zone in the future. Proposals were made by Professor M. Yeleuov of al-Farabi Kazakh National University and employees of the Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Monuments of Ancient Taraz.”
