A Jug Was Presented as a Gift

Within the framework of the “Gift to the Museum” campaign, Taraz resident Barbasynov Kundyzaly Saparaliyuly made a gift to the collection of the Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Monuments of Ancient Taraz.”

He discovered the khum (large storage vessel) during earthwork on his property (Smailov Street, house 6). The jug was located at a depth of 1.5–2 meters, with remnants of decomposed grain crops (millet) found inside, and the top was covered with a stone slab. The khum jar dates to the 10th–11th centuries. Cleaning work was carried out on the valuable khum artifact found in the city of Taraz.
