Interview About the "Night at the Museum" Event

May 18 — the "Night at the Museum" project, which is a museum holiday, is widely practiced in modern international museum practice.

Since 1978, museum workers in all countries have celebrated their professional holiday on May 18 — "International Museum Day." The holiday was officially established at the 11th General Conference of the International Council of Museums in Moscow in 1977. German museums were the first to open their doors to visitors at night in 1997. In 2005, the French proposed the idea of holding the international museum event "Night at the Museum" annually. That same year, the Council of Europe approved the proposal. The event is held under the patronage of the International Council of Museums. In 2006, more than 2,000 museums from 38 countries became participants in the "Night at the Museum" project. In 2006, Kazakhstan also joined the international "Night at the Museum" event.

In this regard, employees of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve Museum "Monuments of Ancient Taraz" under the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bagym Tasybayeva and Laura Baitursynova, gave a live interview on the "Good Morning, Zhambyl!" program of the "JAMBYL TV" channel about the "Night at the Museum" event organized by the State Historical and Cultural Reserve Museum "Monuments of Ancient Taraz" in honor of May 18 — International Museum Day.
