Exhibition on the topic Guardian of Time

On February 15, staff of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Monuments of Ancient Taraz" held a creative exhibition "Keeper of Time", dedicated to the memory of senior artist-restorer Zhulanova Vera Viktorovna. Colleagues, representatives of the creative intelligentsia, and friends with whom Vera Viktorovna worked for many years gathered for the event. Cultural figures, artists, and museum staff recalled Vera Viktorovna creative work and shared memories. During nearly a quarter of a century of work at the regional historical museum, artist-restorer Zhulanova Vera Viktorovna brought thousands of artifacts to life for the museum: copper and bronze coins damaged by time, clay jugs, lamps and ossuaries, stone statues and leather, wooden products, paintings, and much more passed through her careful hands. She restored over 1,000 artistic and archaeological museum objects. The public knew Vera Viktorovna Zhulanova as a talented master of fine arts who was awarded the title of "Honored Artist of the International Community of World Peoples" in 1999, a participant of many republican and regional exhibitions. Renowned Kazakh artist Fatima Tarazi spoke about Vera Viktorovna unique professional qualities that should serve as an example for young museum specialists. Each guest shared their life and creative memories. The exhibition featured archaeological artifacts, paintings, photo collections, and applied art objects.

The epilogue of the exhibition were the words of Vera Viktorovna, written several years ago in an interview: "I like my specialty because it is unlike others. The concept of restoration does not mean making a new object from what was found; the main thing is to give it an aesthetic appearance close to the original. Then museum visitors can appreciate the beauty and skill of its creator!"

Representatives of republican and regional media attended the exhibition.
