Today is an important day when we preserve the golden treasure of history and culture and pass it on to future generations. Every museum is a spiritual center that safeguards the rich heritage of our people.

The uniqueness of the museum-reserve lies in being a golden bridge that preserves, promotes, and transmits historical and cultural heritage to future generations, connecting the past and the present. Here, every object, every exhibit is an entire history, an instructive chronicle.

In this regard, the work of the state historical and cultural museum-reserve Monuments of Ancient Taraz deserves special recognition. Founded in 1998, this museum-reserve has been researching, preserving, and promoting the more than 2000-year history of the city of Taraz.

The museum-reserve includes more than 30 historical and cultural monuments of national significance, among which the settlements of Akyrtas, Kulan, Balasagun, Ornek, and Kostobe are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Since 2011, archaeological and scientific research has been conducted on the territory of the Taraz settlement, resulting in the creation of an open-air museum — the archaeological park Ancient Taraz Settlement.
