An International Conference Was Held

On November 19, 2021, an international conference was held on the topic "Poet of the Great Steppe," dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the great zhyrau, great son of the Kazakh people, poet, aitysker, and composer Zhambyl Zhabayev, who connected two centuries through his life and work. The conference began with a thematic exhibition dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Zh. Zhabayev. Guests and participants of the conference viewed the exhibition of historical and cultural artifacts of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Monuments of Ancient Taraz" under the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and noted their high impressions of the exhibition. The exhibition of historical and cultural artifacts of the Zhambyl Regional Museum of History and Local Lore and the book exhibition of the Sh. Ualikhanov Library were also viewed. Additionally, a trailer was shown on the theme "Champion of Poetic Words," compiled from epics and poems about the historical heritage of the poet celebrating the unity of the people, and a special video about the poet's biography and works calling for cherishing the native land and loving the great Homeland was presented.

The conference was opened by the moderator — Akim of Zhambyl Region Saparbayev Berdibek Mashbekuly. First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abayev Dauren Askerbekovich spoke about the life of Zh. Zhabayev, and Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Raimkulova Aktoty Rakhmetollakyzу discussed the heritage of Zhambyl — the champion of poetry.

Public figure, Honored Artist of Kazakhstan, Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tileukhan Bekbolat Kanaiuly, journalist, writer, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kalizhan Ualikhan, and great-grandson of Zh. Zhabayev Zhambыlov Muratkhan Alimkhanuly presented their reports.

At the conclusion of the conference, the presentation of the book "Zhambyl Zhyrau" took place.
