Victory Day is a significant holiday for the people of Kazakhstan. History testifies that during the Second World War, millions of Kazakhstanis selflessly fought against German fascism. The feat of Great Patriotic War veterans will forever remain in the memory of the current generation. In this regard, employees of the State Historical-Cultural Museum-Reserve "Monuments of Ancient Taraz" under the Culture Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited the home of Great Patriotic War veteran, 98-year-old Bazarbay Burbayev, congratulated him on Victory Day, and received his blessing.
Bazarbay Burbayev was born on December 10, 1924, in the city of Zhambyl. He studied at Kaganovich school. In 1942, he was drafted into the army. He served as a mortar operator in the 393rd rifle regiment. He participated in the liberation of Manchuria, Mukden, Harbin, and other cities. For his courage and bravery, he was awarded the Order of the Red Star and the medal "For Victory over Japan." He returned home from Manchuria in 1947. From 1949 to 1988, he worked as an engineer at the locomotive depot of the city of Zhambyl. He was also awarded the "Veteran of Labor" medal.
This holiday is a day when the spirit of selfless heroism and powerful statehood rises, and the banner of victory flies. The solidity of today's independence, the greatness of our country, and its prosperity are all fruits of this celebration. The current generation looks up to the heroism and resilience shown by veterans. This day, full of heroism, will forever remain an unforgettable page of our history.
