The International Day of Monuments and Historical Sites, celebrated annually since April 18, 1984 to draw public attention to the cultural heritage of the world, its monuments and historical sites, to remind that this cultural heritage needs constant care and protection.
On the eve of the significant date, the historical and cultural museum-reserve "Yezhelgi Taraz eskertkishteri" of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized an International scientific and theoretical online conference "The role of the Great Silk Road in the development of international relations" in the Center of "Rukhaniyat and Historical Studies" named after Sherkhan Murtaza.
The main purpose of the conference is to popularize historical and cultural monuments and intangible values of humanity that were created on the territory of the Eurasian continent along the Great Silk Road.
The scientific conference was attended by historians, archaeologists and museum staff from Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation, as well as domestic specialists working in the field of protection and popularization of cultural heritage. The conference was attended by students of the Faculty of History of M. H. Dulati TarSU, who were imbued with the research reports of reputable scientists.
The staff of the museum-reserve "Yezhelgi Taraz eskertkishteri" acquainted the conference participants with a thematic traveling exhibition - "The Heritage of the Great Silk Road", the collection of which consisted of unique medieval archaeological exhibits revealing the rich historical material culture and spiritual heritage of the urban centers of Zhambyl region on the Great Silk Road.
The meeting was moderated by the director of the historical and Cultural museum-reserve "Yezhelgi Taraz eskertkishteri" Bykybaev Nurlan Duysenalievich. The welcoming speech was given to the chief expert of the "Department of Historical and Cultural Heritage" of the Committee of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Azamat Nurzhauovich Dzholaev. Wishing the participants of the international conference new creative successes and discoveries, A. N. Dzholaev noted that medieval Central Asian cities located along the Great Silk Road have a special contribution, place and role in world culture.
In turn, the deputy director for scientific work of the museum-reserve Alimzhanova Galiya Dzhapsarbaevna told about the historical objects of the museum-reserve "Yezhelgi Taraz eskertkishteri", the ongoing work and plans for the future.
During the conference, the speech of Orazymbetova Bakhyt Kamalovna on the topic "Silk and spices of the Great Silk Road in a modern context" was compatible with a special aroma-tea ceremony, which aroused lively interest among all those present. The conference participants discussed the issues of popularization of historical and cultural Central Asian monuments included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, research in the field of medieval numismatics, anthropology and archaeology, the results of leading archaeological research. In addition, Professor Abdullah Gundogdu, Head of the Faculty of Languages and Historical Geography at Ankara University (Turkey), suggested calling the northern branch of the Great Silk Road the "Turkic Way".
The conference participants thanked the organizers of this conference and noted that promising historical discoveries could be the result of these scientific international contacts.
