Anti-corruption meeting held
Within the framework of the International Anti-Corruption Day, the staff of the State historical and cultural reserve–museum "Yezhelgi Taraz eskertkishteri" held a working meeting aimed at reducing corruption risks.
The International Day against Corruption is celebrated annually on December 9, since 2004. On November 1, 2003, at a high-level political conference in Merida, Mexico, the UN General Assembly adopted the United Nations Convention against Corruption. The purpose of the Convention is to prevent and eliminate corruption. The Convention provides for measures to prevent corruption, as well as a mechanism for international cooperation in combating it, and improves legislation accordingly. According to the provisions of the Convention, money received as a result of corruption is returned from any country. Currently, the convention has been signed by about 140 States and ratified by about 80. Kazakhstan ratified this Convention in May 2008. Since the first days of independence, Kazakhstan has been actively involved in the uncompromising fight against corruption and is ready to engage constructively with all States and relevant international organizations to combat corruption.
